Michael joined Childers Hanlon & Hudson PLC in 2020, and his practice primarily focuses on insurance defense, business litigation, and general liability defense. He previously served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Iowa Business Court and the Iowa District Court, Seventh Judicial District, and worked as an Associate Attorney at Betty, Neuman & McMahon, PLC. Michael is licensed to practice law in Arizona, Iowa, and Illinois, and has been admitted to the U.S. District Courts of the Central District of Illinois, Northern District of Iowa, and Southern District of Iowa.

Michael was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He moved to Iowa to attend Grinnell College where he was a wide receiver and kick returner on their football team. He returned to Arizona to finish his undergraduate studies at Arizona State University, W.P. Carey School of business where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics in 2012.

Michael returned to Iowa to attend Drake University Law School, and in 2017, he graduated with high honors and a Business Law Certificate. While at Drake, Michael worked at two insurance defense firms, and represented multiple clients as a Certified Student Attorney at Drake’s Nonprofit and Transactional Clinic. Additionally, Michael was the Articles Editor on the Drake Law Review, and his note was published in 2017, entitled, “Playing for Peanuts: Determining Fair Compensation for NCAA Student Athletes.”

 After years of serving as a general volunteer, Michael became a member of the Fiesta Bowl Committee in 2022. The Fiesta Bowl’s mission is to enhance local organizations that contribute to the success of their communities through charitable causes. As such, Michael’s involvement with the Fiesta Bowl provides him with the opportunity to give back and make a make a difference in local Arizona communities.
